Life’s Paradoxes

Updated: May 12

The paradoxes of life are what makes our earth spin,

let me try to elaborate on the yang and the yin.

The very essence of our being is a paradox you know,

the rise and the fall of breathe, the ebb and the flow….

Our life force is contingent on opposing forces taking place,

the expansion and contraction of our fragile heart space.

Let’s examine further the perplexities of life per say,

Did u ever wonder why when you drive on a “FREEWAY” - you pay?!!

Additionally, we drive on parkways, and park on driveways it’s true,

think about it - can you even conceptualize a clue?

Our noses run and it’s our feet that do smell,

I’m just stating facts - not trying to rebel!!

The one who knows he knows nothing is considered WISE,

in a world filled with paradoxes this notion applies!

The word abbreviated is way too long,

its meaning and its length just seem so wrong!

We have more conveniences but so much less free time,

if we dare to relax it’s as if we’ve committed a crime!

It seems as if everything we say and do is most contradicting,

which clearly can be very confusing, contending and conflicting.

However, Hashem created the world this way and so it has to be for good,

and everything, although perplexing, is exactly how it should.

So ultimately this poem boils down to this;

to these many paradoxes of life, we all must submiss!

As religious Jews we are very well aware,

to question Hashem - we should not /would not dare!

So sit back and enjoy these paradoxes my friend,

and to my poem this is “the beginning of the end”!!
